Hej!

I am Abbas Sbeity (b. 1991, Lebanon) — a designer with multiple hats based between Helsingborg and Stockholm, Sweden.

As a curator and cultural organiser, I run my curatorial practice through my newly founded organisation & space, Kulturrummet, focusing on site-specific, community-driven projects. My work often engages local communities through participatory and co-creation processes to explore social, political, and urban issues. I bring extensive experience in cultural management, including leading learning programs and grant schemes for artists, journalists, and cultural practitioners across the MENA region.

As a strategist, researcher, and facilitator, I lead Creative Insights Studio, providing design and research consultancy services to the public sector and development agencies.

As a design educator, I teach Design Theory and Management at the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts (Lebanon) and serve as a guest lecturer in the Embedded Design program at HDK-Valand, Gothenburg University (Sweden).

I completed CuratorLab at Konstfack in Stockholm in 2025. I hold an MA in Design from the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts (ALBA) and a BA in Architecture from the Lebanese University. I founded Architects for Change (2014–2019) and is a member of the MENA Design Research Center, where I managed and programmed four editions of Beirut Design Week (2015–2019).
